First Edition of the ZoHRo Awards with Arteel as Diamond Partner
On Thursday, May 11, 2023, #ZigZagHR hosted the first-ever ZoHRo Awards at Docks Dome Brussels. Arteel proudly participated as a Diamond Partner at the sold-out event alongside 40 Arteel VIP ambassadors. Each of these ambassadors represents companies that place “recognition” at the heart of their HR strategy.
Corporate Recognition Award for the Healthcare Sector
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the ZoHRo Awards. From over 200 submissions, the expert jury created a shortlist. Using video podcasts with the nominees, a winner was chosen for each category.
Arteel sponsored the Corporate Recognition Award. The nominees for this award were: Annelies Van De Slijke (Team Manager Culture & Connection, Telenet), Tom Jonkers (Manager Talent Management, Argenta), and Els Suys (General Director, WZC Het Prieelshof). The award ultimately went to Els Suys, who received it from recognition expert Nathalie Arteel.
The jury was highly impressed by how Het Prieelshof structurally integrates recognition into its HR strategy. “Recognition is about valuing people, and giving employees a voice at all levels is crucial,” said Els. “You can only put the residents (the ‘customer’) at the center if your employees are satisfied and engaged. No ‘patient experience’ without employee engagement.”

We are thrilled that the Corporate Recognition Award went to a sector where the tight labor market is felt more acutely than elsewhere.

Futureproof Organizations Put Employees at the Heart of Their Strategy
Before the awards ceremony, the more than 420 HR professionals in attendance were treated to inspiring keynotes from Arjen Banach and Joost Rigter.
Arjen Banach has been researching for years what makes certain organizations futureproof. These organizations stand out because of their culture and place employees at the center of their strategy. A positive corporate culture, in turn, generates more energy, sustainable engagement of committed employees, and effective leadership. Energy enables innovation and drives change.
